MozCon 2018: SEO Superheroes of Mozopolis 🦸‍♀️ 🦸‍♂️

MozCon 2018 celebrated the everyday superheroes of SEO: our conference attendees and customers. 2018 was the year that I stepped up to own the visual design of MozCon after unexpected staffing changes made for a very small Visual Design Team of one (namely me).

The quality of the visual experience that was MozCon 2018 was brand elevating in the eyes of both customers, and non-customers alike. The quality and taste-level of the event surpassed what I’ve seen teams at agencies accomplish.

MozCon 2019: Diving Deep Into a Sea of Search 🐟

With its marine theme, MozCon 2019 emphasized diving deep into SEO data and exploring the possibilities of voice search (a major topic that year) using smart speaker devices. The design team ran with the idea and brainstormed a wealth of visual connections between online search and sea life.

MozCon 2022: Reuniting at Camp MozCon 🏕️

MozCon 2022 was Moz’s first in-person event since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic and we wanted to welcome attendees back with a warm, approachable theme: summer camp! “Camp MozCon” is a place where you can make new friends and say hello again to old ones.

Whoever did the stage design for #mozcon [2022] absolutely slayed it… love the combo of graphics and real elements

MozCon 2023: The Future of Search 🚀

MozCon 2023 embodied its theme, The Future of Search by using the same generative AI tools being discussed at the conference to craft the majority of the event’s artwork. The design team brought its Retro Futurist vision to life with the help of Midjourney, then tweaked & refined the generated artwork to make a cohesive visual brand for the conference.
